About Glen

Glen was born in Joliet and attended Cunningham Grade School, Hufford Jr. High and was a proud graduate of Joliet Central High School class of 1978. He worked as an auto mechanic for 39 years at Bertino’s Auto in Joliet. Glen happily devoted countless years of his life to the Joliet community, being involved as a volunteer basketball coach at St. Paul the Apostle School, 3 terms on the Joliet Grade School’s Board of School Inspectors, President of the Greater Joliet Youth Foundation, President of the Instrumental Music Parents Association, a participant of 15 years and Chair of 5 years for the Joliet Relay for Life, Co-chair for the American Cancer Society Regional Board, President of the Joliet Township High School Athletic Boosters, Co-Chair of the Joliet Township High School Strategic Plan Committee, Head Judge of the Will County Spelling Contest, Big Brother with Big Brother/Big Sister, committee member of Take Back the Night, volunteer at the Daybreak Shelter, the President and instrumental in establishing the Joliet Grade Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence, WJOL political analyst, 2 Terms with the Joliet Park District and 3 years as President, City Center Partnership Christmas Parade Committee, Right Moves for Youth Board Members, Old Timers Baseball Association and Men Who Cook. Aside from his family, nothing gave Glen more pleasure than serving the Joliet Community.

Glen has a wife, Patricia; four children, Brett (Samantha), Patrick, Allison (Ben), Tyler (Beth); one grandson, James Glen; and a large extended family in both the Joliet area and beyond.
